Kumbhavurutty & Manalar Waterfalls

The magnificent Kumbhavurutty Falls is two kilometres from Manalar

Located between Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Manalar Waterfalls is a seasonal, slow-moving waterfall in the Western Ghats. It is also known as Achankovil Falls. At 70 feet, it provides an amazing view after the monsoon season. It tops the list of stunning waterfalls in Kerala as Kumbhavurutty never fails to captivate tourists. You can hear the gush of the waters even as you drive there. Steps have been carved into the rocks to help visitors climb to the top of the waterfall.

Due to the proximity of the waterfalls to the Konni forest, many wild animals can be seen there too. The Kerala Forest Department has also established an eco-contact centre which is run by the Manalar-Kumbhavurutty Vana Samrakshana Samithy. The area is popular among trekkers. A nature interaction centre has been set up close by.
