As the train moves over the Kallada River Bridge, don't miss the chance to witness the Punalur Hanging Bridge, built in 19th century. The ‘Pathimoonnu Kannara Bridge’ or the 13-Arch Bridge is an age old structure made during the British era, which sets the location for numerous movies. It is recognised as one of the oldest mountain rails in India. The only materials used to build the bridge were limestone, rocks, and jaggery.

Monsoon is the best time to visit. Catch a view of the mighty Pandavanpara, near Thenmala in Kollam along with its small and big waterfalls. Approximately 2.5 hours will be required for one side of the trip. The other destinations which can be covered during this journey include the charming Coutrallam Waterfalls and Thenmala Eco-tourism. The ticket charge for the train will cost about Rs 50.
